I love making search and find bottles together with my son. They’re fun to play and even more fun to make. Today I’m sharing an idea for a New Year’s theme bottle that we made a couple of years ago.

Why Baby New Year?
When Onetime and I made this bottle, we talked about how the New Year is a time to start fresh and to try new things. We talked about some of the symbols that go along with a new year including a newborn baby, as well as clocks, confetti, and celebrations.
Then we scavenged our craft supplies for things we could include in our bottle that represented those symbols.
Making the Bottle
We found a cute little plastic baby left over from a friend’s shower, some wooden numbers, a little clock toy, and lots of star confetti and multi-coloured rice leftover from our confetti playdough.
We decided to hot-glue our numbers together to show the year (it’s taken a while to get this post out! Boy, life gets busy!) and we painted them fun colours with acrylic paints.
Before putting all the items into a large, clean glass bottle, you can either take a photo of the items, or write them down on a list to find later.
We added glitter into our bottle, the items we found and listed above, as well as some cute little disco ball Christmas decorations and ta-da – bottle done!
Can you find the baby, two disco balls, a clock hand, and the year above?
After your bottle is complete, screw the lid on tight, and give the list or the photo to your child to see if they can find all the objects!
