The books I’m sharing today are all great reads to help kids become more familiar with our beautiful modern-day country. They focus on our current cultural and geographical diversity. They are not intended to focus on the history, or the original inhabitation of the land or the subsequent white settlement of it. I feel that would be better served by a completely different list of books which is on my future blogging to-do list! That being said, I have done my best to ensure that all the resources listed here are inclusive and represent all of Canada’s peoples with respect.
For your convenience, I list the books in order from those most appropriate for younger audiences to those that would appeal to teens. With each book, I provide a brief summary and age range to help you find what might best suit your needs! Enjoy!
